Letter from the Editor #1

Dear lovely readers,

Welcome to the new Professional Fangirl! I've been wanting to make this an actual site with actual content (not just me talking into the void) for quite a while, and now, in 2016, it's time to just get going already!

Over this month, you'll start seeing posts from some of the other Fangirls I've recruited, as well as Meet The Blogger-type posts introducing them! As the months pass and we figure out this whole running-a-blog thing, we'll add new features to the line up. I want Professional Fangirl to be a place where people can go to talk about the things they love along the geeky spectrum--especially the things that aren't talked about enough, the things that aren't taken seriously elsewhere, and the things that aren't happening right now but have been huge influences on our lives. I want this to be a place where people have conversations and meet likeminded others. And I want it to be a celebration of awesomeness and fun and togetherness in fandom.

Eventually, we'll be looking for sponsors and selling ad space, and we're only going to accept the best ones for our audience and our themes. We'll be covering TV and movies mostly at first, and then expanding into geeky life and discussions of the things we get from fandom and fandom-sources. We'll be looking at what it means to be a fan at different times in your life and in different countries. We'll be talking about so many things, and sometimes holding roundtabes. And we'll see where this site leads us!
